My girlfriend has a passion for storms. When we lived in the Dominican Republic, every year, during the Hurricane Season she was filled with excitement. She became familiar with specialized websites and studied how to analyze satellite images and to predict the direction and strength of the upcoming storms.  Whenever a “Hurricane Alert” was announced, I wanted to prepare and she insisted on going to the beach, to look at the the ocean and the dancing palm trees, to feel the power of the gusts. “Look, I’m flying” she shouted to me, while running against the wind. Yes, storms have a very bad reputation because of the devastating damages they can cause to humans and to the environment. Some storms however, are not that intense, and watching them is very exciting. We can learn a lot from watching this phenomena, and as long as we are safe, a storm can even be an awakening experience.
