Naive Tropical Abstract Expressionism
Oil on canvas, 100 H x 70 W cm / 39.4 H x 27.6 W in
Created by Ofir Hirsh under the Ando identity in 2015.

I was a bit disappointed when I completed this work. Not because I thought it was ugly, bad, or boring. It was because I’ve seen it before in my work. The same style and process. The abstract expressive tropical landscape in the background, with naive figures and objects in darker colors in the front. Again.
Repeating the same patterns is very enjoyable and relaxing, however, when I aim for invention, coming up with a familiar result is somewhat disappointing. I should, at least, give it a new name. In the future, I would probably come up with a better, shorter name, however for now, I call this work and this style: Naive Tropical Abstract Expressionism.
