In the summer of 2012 I went through one of the most challenging periods of my life. I felt how the stress influences both my mental and physical condition. As in other difficult times, I found a haven, comfort, and a cure in creating art. The art making process dramatically reduced the stress, and allowed me to function. I have always believed that powerful experiences change our brain structure for good. I wanted to document that reshaping process of my brain as it happens, and the elasticity of the clay felt perfect.
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. Neuroplasticity allows the neurons in the brain to compensate for injury and disease and to adjust their activities in response to new situations or to changes in their environment.
