“The scuba diver dives to look around, the free diver dives to look inside.”
I don’t know who said it first, but this phrase emphasizes an essential difference between scuba diving and free diving. I am a free diver, and when I painted this work in November 2013 in Eilat (Israel), my inside was full of love, passion, and gratitude. Corals, much like clouds, trigger hallucinations, and I believe that divers who look at them carefully, see their own subconscious in them.
