When everybody sleeps, I softly explode
Oil on canvas, 70 H x 60 W cm / 27.6 H x 23.6 W in
Created by Ofir Hirsh, under the Ando identity in 2015.

Since I became a father, I’m trying hard to be awake during the daytime, to be able to play with and take care of my kids, however, I cannot ignore or change my natural passion for the night. Since I was a teenager, I developed that nightly practice. When everybody sleeps and the streets are empty, silence is king and nobody bothers me with missions and duties, so I feel quite liberated to paint and express myself. All the stress, thoughts, and worries I accumulate during ‘normal business hours’ need to break free and find their peace on my canvas, but since my kids are sleeping near by, I do it softly.
